window of tolerance

Think “comfort zone”, or “just right” zone for your feelings.

When you are inside your window of tolerance, you can handle feelings without going to high (panic, anger) or too low (numb, shut down). Better decision making, and more clarity is possible.

  1. Notice what you are feeling. Anxious? Flipping your lid? Manic? Hyperactive cognition (thought looping)?

  2. Notice what you are feeling. Shut down? Emotionally and physically exhausted? Cranky? Checked out?

In our sessions, we will play around with the interventions that feel right for you. Breath and Weighted blankets don’t work for everyone. I’ve got an supply of mental, physical, and social courses of action to find some emotional equilibrium.
